Mapei 4m/5kg liquid based (no mixing required) tanking kit for waterproofing the tray area. The perfect solution for installing a wet room or walk in shower.

This tray comes complete with the wedi DN40 Wave drain. With a flow rate of 0.5 l/s (30 l/min), the wedi Fundo Wave drain provides excellent drainage for every shower area. The drain performance ensures reliable and fast drainage without any stagnation or residue keeping the shower area safe at all times. The drain can be rotated through 360° beneath the tray for the avoidance of joists and other obstacles.

The shower channel (included) has a length-adjustable (cutting disk supplied) grating that is barely 35 mm wide and creates an almost invisible, minimalist design solution for the drainage of your shower area. The stainless steel finish is standard for the grating, but it can also be supplied in one of seven optional colour finishes in addition to colour match custom colours.

Colour Match Custom Colour:

Please note: This is a special order finish which will take two weeks from order and is non-returnable.

The base of the tray is totally flat and is installed onto the wooden joists in the normal manner with support between the joists. It has an adjustable drain and channel cover to accommodate various tile heights. We recommend a tile thickness of 8mm - 10mm thick, the tray can be tiled with large format tiles or mosaics.

Installation can be conducted by any competent DIY person or professional fitter, and as the drain trough is already installed into the tray, it cuts down on install time and the possibility of installer error.

If you have a concrete floor or if there is no access under the flooring to locate the shower drain, then the tray can still be used by using a separate raised substrate.

Micro-cement Finish*:

To apply a micro cement finish to the WetBase one they first need reinforcing / under-boarding for support. 
A total build-up of 8mm is required and you have a two options of how to get there.
The most common option is 5-6mm of smoothing compound followed by the micro cement finish which is typically 2-3mm thick.
Alternatively, some micro cement manufacturers have their own epoxy base coats, and these are also acceptable to use instead of a smoothing compound.

In all instances it is highly advised to seek professional help and advice on finishing with micro-cement as the fall to drain is vital for efficient drainage.

Wheelchairs, stools and other point loading devices must NOT be used on the micro-cement finish. 

Important:

This tray is 33mm at the thickest part, this means that in most circumstances it will sit 10mm above the floor boards when fitted. Therefore, 10mm tile backer board** should be used to bring the remainder of the floor up to level prior to tanking and tiling.
